This maternity almost didn’t happen due to questionable weather. It was mostly cloudy and windy with a hint of sun and a threat of rain at the Discovery Park Lighthouse in Seattle—in fact, it did sprinkled a little at the start of the session. I was a bit concerned about the camera and strobe equipment being damaged by the rain but thankfully the weather stayed dried. So off we went with the maternity shoot!
After the shoot, there’s a few things I liked about shooting in questionable weather.
1) We basically had the whole beach to ourselves! Yeah!
2) Parking by the Lighthouse was possible for once! Yeah Yeah!
3) The wind did a marvelous job blowing her hair and dress. No need for a fan!
I had some technical lighting difficulties due to the wind. Nevertheless I was very pleased with the images from the shoot. I did two edits of the fourth image, one in color and the other in black and white and I couldn’t decide which one I liked better. So I posted both. 🙂
Isn’t this mama radiant? She is expecting her third child soon. Congratulations to Crystal! Enjoy the rest of your pregnancy and all the best on the pending arrival of your little one!
