Mukilteo maternity photographer | Sierra at Rattlesnake Lake

This is my first time visiting and photographing Rattlesnake Lake near North Bend WA. Thankfully, the name is a misnomer. How did this wonderful place get its name? Apparently a Seattle pioneer and road survey Arthur Denny heard the rattling sounds of seed pods on a nearby meadow and was frightened into thinking he was being attacked by a rattlesnake. He did not know that there are no rattlesnakes in Washington (aren’t we blessed?).

This location was a sight to behold! The tree trunks looked imposing in the waters, the mountain hovered over the lake and the sunset splashed fiery colors across the sky. Just perfect for a maternity shoot!
